Elon Musk has suspended the Twitter account of American rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West). He has violated Twitter’s rule of incitement to violence. According to the rules of Twitter, nobody can put anything that can lead to disruption of peace among general public or hurts sentiments. Supporting Nazis has lead to a strong criticism of Kanye.
Antisemitic Remarks Ye Has Been Making On Musk’s Twitter
During a long hour stream with Alex Jones, Ye expressed his love for the “Nazis.” He expressed his admiration by saying he loves Hitler.
He made an unusual appearance in Jones’ show and covered his face with a black mask while he ranted and raved about sin, pornography, and the devil. Despite Jones putting forward his points about Nazis, Ye kept on saying that there were good things about Hitler, citing that he constructed highways, introduced to the microphone which he used as a singer, and Hitler brought value to things. He reiterated that he likes Hitler and the Nazis.
He also tweeted a picture of the Nazi logo, with the hashtag #LOVESPEECH and caption Ye Loves Everyone.
The Reinstating, A Wrong Move?
West’s account had been suspended previously on Twitter for doing antisemitic tweets. Since, Musk took over Twitter he reinstated his account by tweeting, “Don’t kill what ye hate, Save what ye love.”
Ye announced the 2024 presidential bid recently by posting his video of the campaign logo along with Ye 24. He attracted a mere 70,000 votes in the last presidential election of 2020.
Controversies Surrounding Ye
Ye has been sparking major controversies recently which lead to various brands disassociating from him. While attending the Paris Fashion Week this year he wore a t-shirt with prints of “White Lives Matter,” which was used by white supremacists when the Black Lives Matter movement was going on.
According to a report by Rolling Stones magazine, Ye had used porn, bullying, and mind games to create a toxic environment among Adidas employees working for his Yeezy shoes.
Popular brands like Balenciaga, Adidas, and Gap have cut their ties with Ye for the damaging controversial sparks.
