The summit portrays itself as the contrivance of the UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who envisions Britain’s role as a significant mediator between the economic powerhouses of the United States, China, and the European Union.

According to Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Francois-Philippe Champagne, Artificial Intelligence transcends national boundaries, underscoring the significance of ensuring interoperability among diverse regulatory frameworks. Francois-Philippe, in a statement, stated that the risk lies in committing too little rather than overcommitting, given the rapid evolution of technological advancements.
Moreover, the U.S. Ambassador to Britain, Jane Hartley, stated that talks revolving around AI should be global but soon added that the decision to involve China in these discussions comes from London. Hartley also stated that in response to the invitation from the UK, the US replied that, since the Summit belonged to the UK, the decision to invite China also rests in their hands.
